Disc Golf Rules, Safety, and Etiquette
Basic Rules:
- Each throw counts as a stroke.
- The player farthest from the basket throws first.
- Tee shots must be made from the designated tee pad.
- After a throw, the next shot is taken from where the disc landed.
- A basket is completed when the disc comes to rest inside the chains or tray.
Etiquette:
- Wait for the fairway to clear before throwing.
- Stay still and quiet while others are throwing.
- Be respectful of other players, trail users, and the course.
- Help locate lost discs when possible.
Safety:
- Check surroundings before throwing.
- Avoid throwing if hikers or animals are near the target area.
- Watch for uneven terrain, roots, and steep edges.
- In an emergency, call 911 and provide your location as “Crocus Bluff Lookout.”
Out of Bounds:
- All public trails are out of bounds.
- If your disc lands on or across a public trail, it is considered OB.
- Penalty: Take a one-stroke penalty and throw from the last in-bounds position or from a designated drop zone if marked.
