Disc Golf Rules, Safety, and Etiquette

Basic Rules:

  1. Each throw counts as a stroke.
  2. The player farthest from the basket throws first.
  3. Tee shots must be made from the designated tee pad.
  4. After a throw, the next shot is taken from where the disc landed.
  5. A basket is completed when the disc comes to rest inside the chains or tray.

 Etiquette:

  • Wait for the fairway to clear before throwing.
  • Stay still and quiet while others are throwing.
  • Be respectful of other players, trail users, and the course.
  • Help locate lost discs when possible.

 Safety:

  • Check surroundings before throwing.
  • Avoid throwing if hikers or animals are near the target area.
  • Watch for uneven terrain, roots, and steep edges.
  • In an emergency, call 911 and provide your location as “Crocus Bluff Lookout.”

Out of Bounds:

  • All public trails are out of bounds.
  • If your disc lands on or across a public trail, it is considered OB.
  • Penalty: Take a one-stroke penalty and throw from the last in-bounds position or from a designated drop zone if marked.
