Founded in 1987, the Dawson Women's Shelter is a safe house for women and children experiencing violence and abuse. As a non-profit organization, we are committed to providing confidential shelter, support and informational services to women and children on a 24-hour basis. Part of our mandate is to provide emergency foster care for children. By bringing awareness to women's issues through workshops and educational programs - it is our goal to help eliminate violence against women in our community.
